Can I take a game mod as the basis of my project?

Is it possible to take a game mod as the basis of your project, will it be considered theft? Is it punishable by RageMP?
Also, if we use car models from public resources, the server can be banned for this?

well, if the original creator realeases his game mode that means you can use it, just don't remove the credits of the original creator(s) and you are fine.

It's a different thing if you steal the gamemode or remove the credits..
