RageMP crashing when about to open GTA V. How do I fix this?

Recommended Posts

I have no clue how on earth to fix this but everytime I launch RageMP and try to join OwlGaming, it closes with no error.

Found Logs from C:/RAGEMP

If you're using the Steam copy and connect to a 0.3.7 server, you might find you won't be able to connect to any 1.1 server until a reboot. RAGE:MP would crash before showing the 1.1 copyright notice.

Sometimes this problem occurs after closing closing the game on a 1.1 server, but I have not been able to solidly reproduce it this way. The 0.3.7 "method" will also not solidly reproduce the issue, you will need to try a few times before the issue starts.

I noticed the behaviour with my own game and the experiences of some of my testers, but using the social club version always worked. At first, I thought it was an issue with my server's dlcpacks but the game would still crash on a completely fresh set of server files.

To fix, restart your PC with fast boot disabled. Rebooting worked for me and for my testers who said they had been playing on 0.3.7 earlier before trying to connect to my 1.1 server. The issue, for me, started with the last update which was a few days ago (I believe).
