[SOLVED] Game crashes if it tries to connect any server

Game crashes if it tries to connect any server, doens't matter if I connect directly from launcher or launch the game and then connect there. Can't find any log files except launcher.log to provide also.

  • No mods installed.
  • Steam and Discord overlay disabled.
  • Steam version of the game.
  • Installed to C:/Program Files (x86)/RageMP as it doesn't let me install anywhere else (no mater where I tell the installer to install it finishes up there).

@kerts93 Installed vc redist 2015 x64?

Not the excat version, since when I try to install that I get:

[8C10:B1DC][2018-03-24T10:53:02]e000: Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed.

Net framework I also have later version than needed.

@kemperrr alright, managed to install vc 2015 64it, no change.

If I launch rage (game opens) and use in-game server chooser to connect, this is how the window freezes, you can see the requesting packages in the bottom left corner. If I connect directly from the launcher I don't even see that, spawn into empty world, waits few seconds and them freeze.

I also tried setting up a local server and connecting to that

It looks like some kind of connection was established before I crashed, at least see that disconnected message.

Got it working. For some reason it only works if Rage is installed to C:/RAGEMP.

Also VC 2015 and VC 2017 can't be on the machine at the same time, here's why: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a49cccc9-14a4-47fe-b184-cd554e0ddeb0/c-redistributable-2017-installation-removes-silently-c-redistributable-2015-update-3?forum=vcgeneral

Additionally, once I got it running from the default install location, it also works with VC2017
