Yes that's the correct Discord link as you can see in my image go to "read-this-first" and react to the message to get access, I have heard this fails though give it ago.

It totally fails, I've been trying for hours to get access to the server and it just doesn't work

I don't understand why they'd implement such outdated "security" system - any bot can bypass it, it's very annoying to users and it even renders Discord's own detection and security systems useless. Such a bad idea

Well, if you didn't bypass it how a bot would?

It has some extra checks, it's not just clicking a button and getting roles.

Right now it doesn't work *at all*, but when it works (and users can use the react to get access to the server), a bot can also easily do that, it's only one line of code to make a bot click a reaction, so it's a very outdated and ineffective security measure.

Besides that it's been 12 hours since I posted and me, as well as a few other users, can't enter at all.

You know that it's not just "a click", right? There's a background process making some account checks too, which is probably the reason you're not getting your role.

Whatever "background processes" there are, they're either not working or flawed. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to get into the server. Me as well as ~10 other users that are trying to join. In years of using discord daily, building servers for companies, moderating communities and managing discord bots, I've never had this happen. And it doesn't change the fact that reaction roles are outdated and deeply flawed.

At some point I'll write an article about reaction roles, their (big) list of downsides and why Discord's built-in protection features are miles ahead and used by the biggest communities on Discord, but until something changes, I'll come back here every day.
