RAGEMP isn't starting GTA V because a issue with the Game Version!

The following problem:

I installed RAGEMP and just clicked "Play Now" for testing. It will pop up an error message saying:

"ERROR: Your game is not supported by RAGE Multiplayer." Please upgrade to 1.44 (16 Oct 2018) in order to continue playing. Try verifying Steam cache (for Steam) or running PlayGTA.exe (for Social Club version). "

I can start GTA self without problems and get offered no update. So I'm assuming that I'm on the latest version of the game. What can I do now to fix the error?

Incidentally, I use the Social Club version.
