oculeux Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 (edited) Hey there everyone! Let me just start this off by saying I'm a total noob when it comes to GTA. Both my boyfriend and I got GTA V last night to play through it along with joining a text-based RP server a mutual buddy of ours is in. Both of our copies are legit and through Steam. We are both having this same exact problem as well. I've installed RageMP from the Rage Multiplayer site and hooked it up to the GTA V file directory under Steam / Steamapps / common / Grand Theft Auto V (Folder). When I open it, it runs well, I can see all the servers, I was able to change my username in the client, but once I click on (or paste the server IP address in the direct connect section) I'm hit with an error that says: "Steam has failed to initialize.." Now I've done tons of digging on Google to no avail. I've ran Steam as admin, I've ran RageMP as admin, I've rebooted my PC, and I'm stressed beyond belief. I just want to join this server so we can all hang together. Here's a photo of the error: Edited May 24, 2020 by oculeux Added photo
Heathen Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 (edited) Had a similar problem, my best conclusion was to keep the RAGEMP folder in C:\ Don't put it any directory, just directly into the C:\ drive. Hopefully that'll fix the problem for you. Remember to keep running as administrator. Edited May 23, 2020 by Heathen

Unfortunately, the error is still popping up. I'm able to select the server, I get the loading screen where it downloads the server's files, then it says "Launching game", and that's when I get hit with the error. Super frustrating, I hope I can get this fixed. Thank you though!
