Server Script Update (v1.3d) | April, 2020

 

 

This update is a hot fix for critical bugs and also implements minor changes to the vehicle store.

 

Additions and Adjustments

  • Adjusted vehicle dealership prices
  • Sanchez is now rentable
  • Increased price of Rebla GTS
  • Removed broken and/or overpowered vehicles
    • Manchez, Schyster Imperator 3, Ocelot Ardent, Schyster Cabby, MTL Monster 3 & 5

 

Fixes

  • Fixed server crash with phone contacts
  • 0003520: Game crash when changing radio stations in vehicle.
  • 0003289: custom Radio Issues including crash
  • 0003556: Phone call makes my vehicle suddenly stop as I am driving.
  • 0003547: Auto-spawn makes you die
  • 0003550: Doing /sethp on dead person doesn't revive player
  • 0003544: Everyone can see /air

We got some pretty good RP going on at the moment on the server, I picked out a few screens from both legal and illegal side. I will also soon be posting more events and situations involving PD, FD, etc

Server Script Update (v1.4) | New Clothing Store | April, 2020

 

This update adds in a new clothing store with extra functionality!

Features & Adjustments

  • Added new Clothing Store
    • You can find clothing stores in Paleto and Los Santos. Look for a clothes/t-shirt icon on the map
    • Clothing stores let you change clothes, props (watches, jewellary, etc) as well as textures.
    • NOTE: If your character was created prior to OwlV 1.0, you will be given a token on spawn for a one time free visit to the Clothing Store. After which, in-game currency costs will be applied based on the changes made.
  • Admins are now given a confirmation GUI with entity details when deleting entities (e.g. properties, vehicles, elevators).

 

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where donator tokens applied to an accounts other characters would show on all characters
    • This led people to believe they had more tokens than they actually did
    • This was purely a UI bug and did NOT enable people to spend multiple tokens they did not have

Development Update | April, 2020

 

Quick development update to let you know where we stand on things aside from script updates.

 

Looking for script updates? We've launched a bunch of large updates lately and more coming!

 

OwlV 1.4 | OwlV 1.3 | OwlV 1.2 | OwlV 1.1

 

RAGE 1.1

 

We've received word that, pending a couple of bug fixes, RAGE is planning on launching their 1.1 client either this week coming, or the week after. Owl UAT has been testing on RAGE 1.1 for a while now, and ensuring that our latest script updates also work there. RAGE 1.1 has lots and lots of improvements, across all areas and I'm happy to announce that we're ready for RAGE 1.1 when it goes live.

Suggestions

A few weeks back, Yannick reached out to the community asking for feedback on what they would like to see in the script. Since then, we've added these items into our planner and are prioritizing them currently before assigning them out to scripters to begin development work on them. Expect to see your suggested features appearing soon!
Stability

Server and client stability & performance are very important to us, and something we focus on strongly in the development team. It's important that people can play without the server crashing under them, or without having to restart their client often due to client crashes.

Essentially, in programming, crashes are one of the easiest bugs to fix, but can have a massive improvement on the experience for the player. So I thought it would be interesting to share some stats on our stability:

Server uptime:

Server uptime is great. Our uptime resets are typically due to script updates (which require a server restart).

Client uptime:

Client stability is good. When I RP, I play for 4-5 hours straight before taking a break, and experience no crashes. Hopefully this is the same for you guys, if not, feel free to reach out to me on Discord.

 

Current server uptime: 2 days and 10 hours (58 hours total)

Last restart reason: Script update (v1.4)

Server crashes in the last 30 days: 2 (both were same issue, and within the same day)

Average server crashes per month: 0

 

New and Old Members Join the Team

We're also excited to announce that Jer has joined the development team as a junior developer as some of you may have already noticed. Additionally Eloquent is rejoining the team to work on some additional MDC/MDT features in the near future. Stay tuned for more about that :) 

So in short, keep an eye out for the upcoming script updates, keep roleplaying and having fun, and I'll share our these development updates as often as we have interesting, non-script update information to share.

We had a pretty interesting event last night. - An airline plane crashed down onto the highway.  Later on we had another event hosted by GPO Automotive who was hosting their grand opening with a neat car show, open house of their garage and a burnout/ donut competition in their back lot. Pictures from both events will be shared below.
