Help Please!

Alright, so I have two issues that I need help with. One is the most pressing, as it happens every time I launch the game the second time. After installing, it will launch perfectly fine, I get in-game, connect to the server and auto-download the assets. After that if I close the game and try to launch it again, I am met with this:

And when I select the folder, it does nothing. It just closes and doesn't boot up the game. If I select cancel the updater will pop up for just a second before closing and the game doesn't boot up.

The only fix I can seem to manage is uninstalling it and reinstalling it every time I wish to play it. I looked online and I can't find anyone else with the same issue, though to be fair that may be because of the mixed results when searching for RAGE.

 

My second issue is one that makes me feel like a complete noob, since I looked all over for a video or forum post explaining this to no avail. Plug-ins... Don't wanna play the generic base character, but can't install the plug-ins. No idea how. Every plug-in (that has instructions) says "Put them in the right places" like that explains it, but it doesn't. I am so confused... If I put the files in my RAGEMP folder nothing happens (partially cause of the first issue I have) and if I put them in my GTAV folder nothing happens. I feel like it should be blatantly obvious what to do and I just can't figure it out. X_X

Try running it as an administrator.

As for the second issue, are you talking about resources?  They have to go in the server directory, not rage MP base.

Running as Administrator did nothing.

And I suppose I might be talking about resources. Wheres the Server Directory located? Is that the GTAV folder?

When you install RageMP, a folder called 'server-files' is created, that's your server, you can copy this folder and put it anywhere on your computer or you can keep it located there. Then when you run server.exe it'll generate the remaining folders and then you'll see how you can install gamemodes and stuff (They all have instructions on how to do so).

That helps with the plug-ins! Thanks. Not really sure what to do about the game not starting up though (my first problem).

Not really much info to go on to give you an answer, does it not start when launching rage? Does it not start when you try to play the game normally? Any errors? What are you clicking on up before nothing happens?

I click the shortcut that was created on my desktop. When I launched it originally it worked perfectly, got the launcher menu and got to select my server before launching and playing. But, when I go to relaunch the game afterwards I get that "Select RAGE Multiplayer installation path".  If I choose nothing I get the updater for a second before it closes and nothing happens. If I select the correct folder nothing happens. So far the only solution I've managed is to uninstall and reinstall it, but doing that every time I want to play is a bit of a hassle.

Do you have an antivirus installed such as Avast, BitDefender, Norton etc? If so completely disable it and try again

Are you selecting the directory that contains your GTAV.exe file?

Or maybe there could also be something outdated if you haven't kept your game up to date, you could try deleting your GTAV.exe and then reverify your files so it downloads again.
